Mpumalanga CET College Reflects on a CET Month, National Career Week of Celebration, Career, Achievements and Heritage Month. “I KNOW I CAN”
As September draws to a close, Mpumalanga Community Education and Training (CET) College takes pride in looking back at a month filled with celebration, culture, and achievement. Marked by Heritage Month, CET Month, and National Career Week, the College embraced the opportunity to honor its students, showcase cultural diversity, and create pathways for future growth.
Honoring Culture and Heritage
The spirit of Heritage Month was alive across all community learning centres of the College, as students and staff showcased the beauty of South Africa’s diverse cultures. From traditional attire to music, dance, and poetry, the activities reflected the rich identity of the communities the College serves. These celebrations reminded all participants of the importance of unity in diversity, while fostering pride in cultural heritage.

Empowering Futures Through National Career Week
In line with National Career Week, Mpumalanga CET College hosted NCW in four districts namely, Kwaguqa, Cheshire, Shalamuka and Vulamehlo hosted the main event on the 25/09/2025. Mpumalanga CET College partnered with stakeholders and industry professionals to expose students and community members to diverse career pathways. Career exhibitions, motivational talks, and engagements with institutions such as Department of Health, SAPS, FNB and Higher education entities provided valuable guidance for learners to plan their futures with confidence.
A Month to Remember
From the vibrant rhythm of cultural performances to the pride of academic success and the inspiration of career guidance, September was truly a month to remember for Mpumalanga CET College. These celebrations underscored the College’s mission to provide inclusive education, celebrate heritage, and build sustainable futures for its students and the wider community. As we close Heritage Month, CET Month, and National Career Week, Mpumalanga CET College extends gratitude to all staff, students, and partners who made this journey possible. Together, we continue to build bridges of learning, culture, and opportunity.

12 September 2025 – Mpumalanga CET College successfully celebrated Community Education and Training (CET) Month in conjunction with National Career Week at Kwaguqa Community Learning Centre. The event brought together students, lecturers, and key stakeholders for a day of recognition, cultural celebration, and career exploration.
A highlight of the programme was the awarding of Certificates of Achievement to students who excelled in the following learning areas: Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, English, Sepedi, isiZulu, Business Studies, Geography, Physical Science, and Life Science.
In celebration of CET Month, both students and lecturers showcased their talents and embraced cultural diversity through performances such as isiNdebele dance, Zulu dance, poetry recitals, and a lobola drama presentation.
As part of National Career Week, the event also featured a Career Expo where learners engaged with institutions and organisations including the University of Mpumalanga, FNB, Lovelife, Higher Health, Rosebank College, NYDA, and Emalahleni FM. These stakeholders provided valuable information on education, health, financial literacy, and career opportunities.
Speaking at the event, Mpumalanga CET College emphasised the importance of empowering students not only through academic achievements but also by providing platforms that connect them to future opportunities.
This celebration reinforced the college’s commitment to lifelong learning, skills development, and community empowerment.

The Principal of Mpumalanga CET College, along with the Deputy Principal: Corporate Services, two dedicated lecturers, and a Centre Manager, proudly represented the college at the prestigious DVV Gala Event held at Garden Court, Nelson Mandela Boulevard in Cape Town.

Mpumalanga CET College, with support from AGRISETA funding, successfully hosted a capacity-building workshop for our Satellite Supervisors on Generic Management and Leadership. The training took place at Olifants River Lodge from 28 July to 1 August 2025, facilitated by Rifumo Professional Services.
This initiative forms part of our ongoing commitment to empower leadership and improve service delivery across our satellite centres.

Welcoming party of Mr Nawa, Deputy Principal: Academic Service from China at Mpumalanga CET College. It was a trip to benchmark on the entrepreneurship practices in China so that the same application could be implemented in South Africa .

Mpumalanga CET College has honoured the invitation by Bakgatla ba Mmakau at Mmametlhake on the 24th of May 2025. Marketing exhibitions and presentation of programme offerings have been carried out during the event.

Mpumalanga CET College played a pivotal role through marketing exhibitions and presentation of product offerings at careers expo event hosted by NPO called Ingomfundolento at Mgobodzi Community Hall on the 9th of May 2025. Students from various schools, adults and out of school youth were in attendance. Lecturers from Vulamehlo CLC and Sifunalwati Satellite supported the event.
